Like I said, I try to buy music on a budget but sometimes if something rare comes to the local shop I'll pick it up. So far I own 91 albums, and I hope to far exceed three digits by the time summer is here.
I also hate paying anything more than $9.99 for a CD, so often times I'll wait long periods of time to purchase an album, but save a helluva lot more in the long run. The only downside to buying music is going to the record store and realizing that I've bought pretty much everything worth buying, and now I have to dig deeper through the rows of CDs to find something I didn't have before. Even if I burn the music to a CD I'm always reminded that I have a bootleg version and not the original copy. When I download a CD onto my computer, there's always a barrier between the work and myself and I can never touch the case or flip through the pages of the coverbook. I feel that physically owning the album brings myself closer to the work than if I had only downloaded it to my desktop.
